If you just have to use disposable dishes, how about compostable dishes instead? Choose from dishes made of leaves, bamboo, or sugarcane.

Each year, Americans throw away 25,000,000,000 Styrofoam cups.  This is enough to circle the earth 436 times each year. Styrofoam accounts for more than 25% of landfill space, and it probably never decomposes. Try asking restaurants to stop using styrofoam, and then take your business to restaurants that use recyclable to-go containers.  Better yet, bring your own container with you.
