Autoseal Stainless Steel Travel Mug
This travel mug fills me with awe.  My friend Catey demonstrated how her new Autoseal works.  She filled it with coffee and cream, sealed it, shook it, rolled it across the table, then picked it up and took a serene sip.  The only down side, according to Catey: the nifty vacuum-sealing top is hard to clean.

Recycled steel travel mug
Reusable travel mugs are everywhere.  If you tend to forget yours, then buy a few and leave them by your front door and in your car.  Or do what I did: if you forget, make yourself buy a new one. You’ll learn pretty quickly! And if it takes a dozen new mugs for you to form the habit, you can give away some of your surplus.

Each year, Americans throw away 25,000,000,000 Styrofoam cups.  This is enough to circle the earth 436 times each year.
Styrofoam accounts for more than 25% of landfill space, and it probably never decomposes.

If we stop buying styrofoam, companies will stop producing it. Try asking restaurants to stop using styrofoam, and then take your business to restaurants that use recyclable to-go containers.  Better yet, bring your own container with you.
