You can buy reusable grocery bags at almost any store.  If you have a hard time remembering your bag when you go shopping, try what I did:  every time you forget, make yourself buy a new bag. They’re usually only a dollar.  When you end up with a dozen or so bags, you’ll never forget your bag again! And since they’re so cheap, you can bring two bags to the store and give one away to someone who forgot their own.
Meanwhile, in the produce and bulk departments, we’re used to using plastic bags. These bags are recyclable, but if you prefer to reduce your consumption of plastic, try the Reusable cotton bulk bag. If you live in Charlottesville, you can find these at Rebecca’s, and probably IY and Whole Foods. They’re not transparent like plastic, so I put a different colored ribbon on each of my bags so I can tell them apart in the checkout line.
