Did you know that most dental floss is made of the same plastic used to make Teflon? (more Facts about floss) This natural floss is the best option I’ve found. The packaging and the dispenser are recyclable. The floss is made of silk, so it’s biodegradable.
Another option is the Dentek floss pick. Picks are great because they allow you to use an inch of floss instead of a foot, but most of them are made to use once and then toss (landfill fillers!) This one is made of biodegradable material, but it’s unclear if you could actually get it to ever break down in your own compost pile. The floss in the pick is not biodegradable.
And then there is Eco-dent floss, which is a “vegan nylon floss” … whatever that means!
